Rooted & Rising · Becoming You
You Are Allowed to Begin Again
October 17, 2026 · A Rooted & Rising reflection
Starting over can feel expensive before a single dollar changes hands. There is the time you already gave, the explanation you think you owe, and the uncomfortable thought that somebody will say, ‘Again?’ But continuing something that no longer fits also has a cost. A new beginning does not erase the work you did. It asks what that work has taught you.
Before making a big announcement, name the actual change. Do you need a different plan, a smaller commitment, a clearer boundary, or help carrying the next step? ‘Everything has to change’ is hard to act on. ‘I will ask about that training program on Tuesday’ gives you somewhere to put your feet.
Choose one action you can complete with the time and resources you have. Write down what you expect, try the action, and review what happened. You are allowed to adjust a plan without turning the adjustment into a judgment about your worth.
A question to carry with you
