Rising With Purpose

October 17, 2026 · A Rooted & Rising reflection

Purpose can become a heavy word when you think it must explain your whole life before you move. Sometimes the clearer question is smaller: where can my values, abilities, and responsibilities meet in a useful way this week?

Look for evidence. When have you contributed something that mattered? Which strengths do people rely on? Which commitments still fit, and which ones are being carried only because they are familiar? A job title may be part of the answer, but it does not have to contain the whole answer.

Choose one experiment rather than making a permanent declaration. Offer a skill, ask about a role, finish a useful task, or learn what a possible next step would require. Set a date to review it. Purpose becomes more practical when you can describe what you tried, what it taught you, and what you will do with that information.

A question to carry with you

Where could you use one strength in a way that fits your values and present responsibilities?

You may reflect privately or use a fictional example. Personal disclosure is optional.
